The following is the suggested path to PADI Instructor
  1. Discover Scuba for absolute beginners who are not sure if they will enjoy diving.
  2. Or start with PADI Open Water if you know this is what you would like to do.
  3. PADI Advanced is the next step. keep in mind that from stage to stage there may be a minimum number of dives required before you can qualify for the next level.
  4. Speciality dives such as rescue diver etc. You need to have a certain number of these specialty courses before you can achieve dive master.
  5. Dive Master. There is a fair amount of time between advanced diver and Dive Master. Advanced diver is a good level for casual divers who are not looking to make a career in diving, whereas dive master is the first level for a career in diving instruction.
  6.  Scuba Dive Instructor. before you can attain this level you will need to have logged around 100 dives and will have spent some time as dive master.
